This video is part of Co+op, Stronger Together’s “Lights, Cameras, Co-ops” series sponsored by the National Co-op Grocers Association celebrating 2012 International Year of Cooperatives and hosted by celebrity chef Kevin Gillespie. In this episode, Kevin takes a lesson in food biodiversity at Bellingham’s Heritage Lane Farm. Their eclectic family of farm animals is made up of rare “heritage” breeds, which they raise to promote better livestock-raising practices and healthier meat for the Community Food Co-pp’s customers. Watch and you’ll quickly discover the many ways food co-ops, their shoppers and owners, and their communities are stronger together.
