Volunteers from The Co-operators and Conexus Credit Union joined the North Central Family Centre (NCFC), to clean up their neighbourhood. For both of these businesses located in Regina, Saskatchewan, the volunteer initiative is part of the International Year of Cooperatives as designated by the United Nations. In addition, The Co-operators supports their staff’s volunteer efforts by offering them two paid days per year to volunteer. “When you talk about co-operatives, it really means giving back to the community,” said Glenn Bohay, manager of community relations with The Co-operators. “It’s not all about profits.”
