Mlup Baitong is a leading local NGO in the environment sector in Cambodia. The complementary nature of environmental education, advocacy, and community-based natural resource management with the creation of alternative livelihood options results in positive and sustainable impacts. We are nationally and internationally respected for our successful approach in environmental education and conservation.
Mlup Baitong was established in February 1998 as a project of an international NGO to address the problem of deforestation in Cambodia with a focus on educating the general public on conservation of natural resources. Since then, the organization has grown mature over the years in terms of project implementation, staff capacity-building and organizational development.
Currently, Mlup Baitong employs around 60 Khmer staff at the main office in Phnom Penh and field offices in Kampot, Kampong Speu, Kampong Chhnang, Pursat, Battambang, Siem Reap, Kampong Thom, Stung Treng, and Svay Rieng provinces. They are supported by a number of government and community counterparts, several Cambodian and international volunteers, as well as one expatriate advisor.
